Peril of online purchases

I felt bummed by an online seller for short selling me.    I ordered two and paid for two, garden sprayers. The parcel arrived this morning via Entrego delivery.     The package addressed to me states the price to pay (Php240) and the units (2).     The parcel contains only one. And there's no way to contact seller known only by its web page as <harrisonph.ph> to complain.    I informed 'shopee' the umbrella marketeer via private messenger but it seems it has no personnel to deal with customer. Shopee has poor customer service, a conclusion I hesitate to believe.

Duterte hasn't destroyed but mere plays rigodon

Image
Downloaded photo. CTTO Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte hasn't destroyed the oligarchy by the singular act of closing ABS-CBN. He hasn't even destroyed the Lopez clan. He only succeeded in shuttering a TV station and gagging a significant media segment from exercising their right of survival and freedom of expression. Donwloaded. CTTO Add to that, and this is a significant sequel, by shutting down ABS/CBN and handing its frequency to DBN of Dennis Uy and his cohorts from China, Duterte merely rearranged the oligarchy putting to the front rows his oligarch-cronies and the backseat those he dislikes. Nothing new, in fact. There is no destruction but merely rigodon of oligarchs.

Locked down hospital reopens

Even sans lab results DOH rule seeks discharge from facility quarantine of asymptomatic persons even if earlier tested Covid19 positive CITY (July 13) -- St. Paul’s Hospital in Iloilo City reopens today, 14 days after lockdown due to its six resident physicians who tested Covid19 positive. Dr. Ella Mae Divinagracia, SPH spokesperson, tells reporters the Department of Health (DOH) - Region 6 here has given the religious-run hospital the go-signal to reopen though the results of swab tests of its 1,500 workers are yet to be released. All those quarantined and tested but remained asymptomatic are presumed 10-14 days after to have recovered and safe from contaminating others, she adds. “It defeats the purpose. Had the results been released a day after the swabbing, our patients and workers would have been spared the ordeal of being confined that long,” she says. The DOH “sub-national” laboratory here does not report on its backlog of 2,600 "unprocessed specimens" thou...
STATEMENT OF NUPL-PANAY ON THE MURDER OF ATTY. ANTHONY TRINIDAD The National Union of People’s Lawyers (NUPL)-Panay condemns even as it mourns the murder of our brother in the legal profession Atty. Anthony Trinidad. He was driving home from a court hearing July 23 afternoon in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental when attacked gunmen riding in tandem on a motorcycle who sidled up with his car and opened fire. Atty. Trinidad was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital; his wife Novie Marie was injured. Guihulngan PNP chief Lt. Col. Bonifacio Tecson told reporters that Atty. Trinidad sought protection from local PNP after receiving death threats from an anti-Communist group which tagged the slain lawyer “supporter” of the New People’s Army (NPA) and was in its hit list. The murder of Atty. Trinidad casts another dark blot on the regime of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte for its lackadaisical work and negligence in protecting its own people, if not downright complicity and partici...
